Wine, tourism and business opportunities in the Wairarapa Dark Sky Reserve

Now in its third year at URLAR vineyard and winery, our Go-Carterton Dark Sky Business Evening brings together Wairarapa businesses, tourism operators, accommodation providers and community organisations for a relaxed evening of wine, conversation and dark-sky opportunities.

Hosted at URLAR vineyard and winery in Gladstone, this informal networking event reminds us all that our dark sky reserve is one of New Zealand’s most precious assets. Go-Carterton, our business association in Carterton, invites its members and business owners to connect and experience this remarkable taonga we share. If the weather allows, Star Safari will bring telescopes for a closer look at the night sky that makes our region so special.

Enjoy the fabulous hospitality of URLAR, with plates of delicious bites and excellent wines, while networking with others who are helping to grow the region’s reputation as a destination for dark sky tourism, astronomy, and authentic night-time experiences. Share ideas, build new relationships and discover opportunities to work together in celebrating yet another one of Wairarapa’s greatest natural assets.

As daylight fades, the evening will continue beneath the stars with Star Safari telescopes, observing (weather permitting), offering guests the chance to experience the beauty of our night sky firsthand.

We look forwarding to seeing you there.
