Carterton
Space Week 2026

From the Launch Pad to the Night Sky

A week-long festival of rockets, planetarium adventures, space talks, telescopes, dark skies, art, movies and hands-on science.

Lonely Planet note: Wairarapa was recognised in Best in Travel 2026, with Carterton Space Week highlighted as a recommended activity to visit.

For one week, Carterton becomes a little spaceport.

Follow the programme from water rockets and model rocket workshops to Mars Blueberry planetarium shows, space sector talks, astrophotography, Star Safari, and the real Wairarapa night sky.
