After years of glorious water-rocket countdowns, Carterton Space Week is levelling up. This year, we’re moving from bottle rockets to real model rockets with Carterton Rocket Academy, presented by It’s Not Rocket Science.
Join us for a hands-on beginner rocketry workshop where families, children, and curious first-time rocket engineers can build and launch their very own rocket. This session introduces the basics of rocket design, stability, launch safety, and the glorious question: “Will it fly?”
Participants will build a simple rocket, learn what makes it launch successfully, then head outside for the best part: launch time.
This is a perfect first rocketry session for children, families, and anyone who wants to start Space Week with a small rocket and a large grin.
Suitable for: Beginners, families, children, and first-time rocket builders.
Bring: Curiosity, sensible outdoor shoes, and a willingness to count down loudly.
