After years of glorious water-rocket countdowns, Carterton Space Week is levelling up. This year, we’re adding real model rockets with Carterton Rocket Academy, presented by It’s Not Rocket Science.
Join us for a hands-on beginner rocketry workshop where families, children, and curious first-time rocket engineers can build and launch their very own rocket. This session introduces the basics of rocket design, stability, launch safety, and the glorious question: “Will it fly?”
Participants will build a simple rocket, learn what makes it launch successfully, then head outside for the best part: launch time.
This is a perfect first rocketry session for children, families, and anyone who wants to start Space Week with a small rocket and a large grin.
Suitable for: Beginners, families, children, and first-time rocket builders.
Bring: Curiosity, sensible outdoor shoes, and a willingness to count down loudly.
