The Phoenix Astronomical Society is a community of amateur and professional astronomers based in Carterton, New Zealand. Based in Carterton, the Society brings together people who share a passion for the night sky through regular meetings, guest speakers, observing sessions and community outreach. With expertise ranging from visual observing and astrophotography to comets, meteors and variable stars, members are always happy to share their knowledge with newcomers. The Society is a long-standing supporter of astronomy education, Carterton Space Week and dark sky initiatives across the Wairarapa.
