Phoenix Astro is Carterton’s local community of stargazers, telescope wranglers, sky photographers and cosmic question-askers. Phoenix Astro is the shortcut for The Phoenix Astronomical Society; the group brings together people who love sharing the night sky, from backyard observing and telescope know-how to astrophotography, dark-sky protection and the occasional glorious cable tangle. For Carterton Space Week, Phoenix Astro members are helping visitors meet real telescopes, discover how astronomers capture light from distant worlds, and see how a local astronomy club can turn curiosity into community.
